Ideas to Action Framework

# From a long list of ideas to a prioritized shortlist in six weeks

Ideas to Action is a framework for triaging the problems and ideas your people surface. In three meetings over six weeks, you approve the quick wins early and decide the bigger ones with real numbers, each with a leader, a date, and a result you can track.

Before you start

## Your people told you what to fix. Here's how to act on it.

Through Harvest Earnings, we've spent years helping large companies act on ideas from their own people. Every time a long list landed on a leadership team's desk, we saw the same three things happen:

1

**The list felt like a new pile of work.** With hundred or thousands of ideas, it's hard to know where to start, so the quick wins wait behind the hard ones, and the savings wait with them.

2

**Good ideas went undecided.** "We're still looking at that" lasted for months, and the company kept paying for problems its people already knew how to fix.

3

**Decisions waited for everyone to agree.** One leader's doubts could stall an idea the rest wanted, and each extra round of meetings pushed the savings back.

This was never about effort. These teams had no way to process ideas faster than their normal rate.

### With this framework, you can

- **Approve quick wins in your first meeting.** Each leader weighs in only where they have a view, so most ideas need no debate.
- **Give every approved idea a leader, a date, and a result you can track.**
- **Decide the bigger fixes with real numbers** from the people who'll run them.

Companies hire consultants to go hunting for this. Tell Jules finds operational wins wider and deeper than any consultant can reach, straight from the people who already know, and brings them back in weeks. This framework turns them into decisions you can track, using the leaders you already have.

How to use this guide

This guide walks you through the three meetings. Each one shows what to prepare, what to cover in the meeting, and what you'll have when it's done.

Share it with everyone on your leadership team and with the person you'll ask to act as project manager, then book the three meetings two weeks apart.

Who it's for

## Built for operations leaders running complex, multi-location work

You've invested in surveys, town halls, skip-levels, and manager check-ins. The problems, and the ideas to solve them, are already in your people's heads. The gap is getting them to you, sorted and ready to decide on.

### This is for you if

- You're a COO, VP of Operations, or GM at a company with 150 to 1,500 people
- You run frontline-heavy operations across many locations or shifts
- You've got a backlog of ideas and problems from your people, and need a fast way to triage them
- You want approved fixes you can track, each with a leader and a date

## Meet Tell Jules

Jules shows you the operational problems and ideas your frontline teams already carry, like a scheduling gap that drives weekly overtime or two sites buying the same part separately when one already has it on the shelf. Every worker can take part in a short call or chat, about seven minutes, in 55 languages and counting, at their own convenience. You get it back sorted, each problem beside your employee's idea for solving it with guidance on what to check, in weeks and for a fraction of a consulting engagement.

## Good to know before you download

What's inside the guide?

A seven-page PDF guide. It covers the three-meeting plan, the four statuses every idea gets, the decision flow, example criteria for approving an idea, the shared spreadsheet with worked example rows, and a done-when checklist for each meeting. Share it with your whole leadership team and the person you'll name as project manager.

Do I need Tell Jules to use the framework?

No, but it works best with Tell Jules. You can run the framework against any list of problems and ideas, but with Tell Jules, every problem arrives paired with your employee’s own idea for solving it, plus guidance on where it touches your P&L, the risk to watch, and which teams to pull in.

If you gather the ideas yourself, make sure to add all of that: pairing each problem with an idea, working out where it hits the P&L and a starting point to size it, flagging the risk, and naming who to involve.

With Tell Jules, it comes back in one place you can sort and triage. [Book a chat with the founders](https://www.telljules.ai/book-a-call?hsLang=en) to see how it works.

How long does the framework take to run?

Six weeks for the first cycle: a 90-minute meeting in week two, then 60-minute sessions in weeks four and six. After that, the leadership team keeps a 60-minute rhythm every two weeks, using the same sheet and the same agenda.

Who needs to be in the room to run the framework?

Three roles. Your leadership team makes the decisions. One project manager from outside that team keeps the spreadsheet current and chases inputs. For each approved or analyzed idea, you name an idea leader who runs the fix or does the analysis and reports back at each meeting.

How is Tell Jules different from a survey?

They do different jobs. A survey measures sentiment across a lot of people at once, and it does that well. Tell Jules surfaces specific operational problems and the fixes your people would run, the job companies usually hire consultants or launch top-down initiatives to do, and it hands you that in weeks.

Are Tell Jules conversations confidential?

Yes, if you choose that mode. You decide how responses come back: confidential or attributed. Confidential means each person gives a name and a unique code that are never shared with you, no transcripts leave, and you see the problems and ideas in aggregate. Attributed means responses are on the record. Either way, conversations are handled in line with HIPAA and SOC 2, Tell Jules never connects to your systems, and we never train on your data.
